ABCRC: the association portal, the member systems and the congress websites
Member area, dues paid online, certificates, elections, a public surgeon directory — and a new website for every congress edition, since 2021.
The client
ABCRC — the Brazilian Association of Hair Restoration Surgery brings together the Brazilian physicians devoted to hair transplantation. It serves two audiences at once: the member, who has to keep dues current, issue certificates, vote in elections and follow the scientific output; and the patient, who lands on the site looking for a surgeon they can trust. We have been responsible for the portal, the member systems and the congress websites since 2021.
What an association needs from a portal
A medical body does not live off a brochure site — it lives off the systems behind it.
Two audiences, one front door
Patients look for a doctor; members look for their private area. The same address has to serve both well without confusing either.
A calendar of its own
Dues, elections, assemblies and the congress happen on fixed dates. Every cycle needs the platform ready beforehand, not afterwards.
A new event every year
Each congress edition has its own identity, programme, speakers, sponsors and registrations. It is a project that starts over every season, with a short shelf life and high visibility.
Continuity
Boards change; the portal and the member base carry on. Operations cannot depend on whoever is running the association right now.

Institutional portal
News, notices, videos, association history, past-presidents gallery, board and council, events and internal search. The ABCRC team publishes through the panel, with an editor and image uploads.
Physician area
Members-only area with registration, password recovery and access to everything reserved for those in good standing.
Dues paid online
Members check their dues and pay on the site itself, through the Cielo checkout, with payment status recorded automatically — no more receipts emailed to the secretariat.
Certificates
Members issue their own certificates without going through the association secretariat.
Elections and assemblies
Electoral process and assemblies run through the portal, restricted to those entitled to vote.
Public surgeon directory
A search for member surgeons with a detail page per professional — the path by which patients find a specialist from the association.
Folículo journal
The association scientific publication in browsable digital issues, listed by edition and readable online.
A new website for every congress
We built the site for the 9th Brazilian Congress of Hair Restoration Surgery, the one for the 10th CBRC and the one for the Rio Live Surgery Workshop. Each carries programme, speakers, scientific committee, venue, registrations with tiers and categories (member, resident) and the sponsorship packages — updated throughout the event season.
Congress online
Access to the congress livestream from the portal itself, for those following remotely.
Email marketing campaigns
We also run the sends to the association base: announcements, calls to assembly and congress promotion go out through our structure, with the portal transactional email kept separate from campaign email.
Preventive maintenance
The association runs on these systems all year, so they are watched all year: platform updates, fixes for disclosed vulnerabilities and environment reviews are part of the monthly routine.

Members serve themselves
Dues, certificates, personal data and voting all happen on the portal. The secretariat stops being the bottleneck for repetitive work.
The event season became routine
Because the congress website comes back nearly every year, delivering it stopped being an exceptional project: we already know what each edition needs, and programme, speakers and sponsors go in throughout the season rather than on the eve.
Patients find the specialist
The surgeon directory turns the association website into a referral channel for its own members.
Infrastructure and maintenance under contract
Servers on Amazon AWS, transactional email through Amazon SES and monthly maintenance: the people who look after the code look after the environment.
The calendar measures this project: since 2021, every dues cycle, every election and every congress went live on the date it had to — and the next season starts with the structure already in place.
