The client

SAESP — the São Paulo State Society of Anesthesiology brings together the anesthesiologists of São Paulo around training, professional advocacy and scientific output. The portal serves the member (dues, events, mentoring, regional chapters), the physician in training (simulation centre, workshops) and the patient, who arrives looking for information about anaesthesia. It is an institution with an archive of its own — and a portal that has to carry that history without turning into a dead archive.

What a medical society portal has to handle

This is not a set of fixed pages: it is a living calendar, a member base and an institutional archive.

📅

A calendar that changes weekly

Own events, endorsed events, workshops and the annual calendar: dated content that loses its value if it is not up to date on the day.

🗺️

A decentralised structure

Regional chapters, committees, mentoring and international partnerships — each front with its own space and audience inside the same portal.

🔄

The annual dues cycle

Every year the member base is updated in bulk. That has to happen without manual typing and without locking out those already in good standing.

✍️

Editorial autonomy

The society team needs to create a page, change a menu and swap a banner without raising a ticket and without waiting for a deploy.

What we built and maintain

Portal, members-only area and internal tooling, under monthly maintenance.

🏛️

Institutional portal

Board, past presidents, timeline, headquarters, regional chapters, compliance and social action: the institutional archive organised and browsable, not buried in a PDF.

🔐

Member area

Registration, join-us flow, login and password recovery, with restricted content reserved for society members.

🧾

Annual dues import

A system that updates the standing of the entire member base in bulk each cycle — with no line-by-line manual checking.

📆

Event calendar

Own events, endorsed events, the annual calendar and workshops, each with its own page and promotion window.

🩺

Simulation Centre

A dedicated space in the portal for the simulation centre — hands-on training promoted and scheduled through the same channel.

🤝

Mentoring and international partnerships

The society training and exchange programmes given their own space, instead of being diluted into a generic page.

💬

Patient area

Content aimed at people about to undergo a procedure — the public side of the society, kept separate from members-only material.

📰

News, newsletter and search

News publishing with detail pages, newsletter sign-up and internal search across the whole portal.

🛠️

Internal CMS

The team creates and edits pages, organises menu links and swaps banners through the panel. Publishing does not depend on us.

🛡️

Ongoing security management

Security is not a one-off delivery: the portal gets permanent oversight, with platform updates applied and fixes shipped as soon as vulnerabilities are disclosed.

What it changes in practice

The effect of treating the portal as a system rather than a brochure.

1

The calendar reaches the member

Events, workshops and the calendar are published by the team itself, on the day the information exists.

2

The annual cycle becomes routine

The dues turnover happens through an import, not through a spreadsheet checked by hand.

3

Every front has an address

Simulation, mentoring, regional chapters and partnerships each have their own page — and can be promoted with a direct link.

4

Infrastructure and maintenance under contract

Servers on Amazon AWS, with Cloudflare serving as proxy, firewall, CDN and cache, and monthly maintenance: the people who look after the code look after the environment.

What you see here is breadth: more than forty areas of the portal — from the institutional archive to the simulation centre — kept up to date by the society own team, with no ticket to raise.
